Our company Back in 1984, and started business. We have a teaching studio and small showroom in Southport upstairs above a furniture store and we have just finished a five year stint with a major drum and percussion retailer, the last two managing their Qld operation
Business grew at a steady pace, but they both realised that the company market was too small to give them a steady income just selling drums. Bit by bit they added guitars and amplifiers and by 1988 were known as Drum and Music Centre
By 1991 the small upstairs showroom was bulging at the seams with gear, so 1992 saw them take over the furniture store downstairs as well, and re-name and re-structure the business
The store now boasts the highest turn-over and sales of drums, guitars and P.A.'s on theshow room, carrying all the major brands including Yamaha, Marshall and Zildjian and are exclusive agents for Fender (the biggest name in guitars and amplifiers in the world), Guild, Taylor, Ovation, ESP and Esteve guitars; SWR Bass Amplification; Sennheiser and Nady microphone systems; Pearl, D.W., Dixon, Remo, Premier and Tama professional drums, and Paiste and Sabian professional Cymbals
It has a large teaching facility (that was actually kicked off in the mid 80's when we produced a drum video that went national at a time when videos were virtually non-existent) that specialises in guitars and drums and is a repair agent for most brands with a guitar tech on site. |
