In 1992, a group of people with a concern for animal welfare got together to produce pigs in a natural, outdoor environment where the welfare of the pig is paramount. The company we formed is now Victoria's largest outdoor pig producer and the only pig company in Victoria to be accredited by the rspca. We are now proud to offer you our tasty, tender pork under this brand.
Our pigs are bred at our farm near the otway ranges in south western Victoria. They are derived from a hybrid strain of pigs with the base genetics made up from the duroc, large white & landrace breeds. These breeds have been chosen for their suitability to outdoor breeding and superior meat quality characteristics such as lean meat yield, tenderness and colour. Our pigs are born outdoors. To protect them from the natural elements, they are reared in large straw based shelters where they are free to move about, play and exercise.
Our pigs are fed a natural grain-based diet free of added growth hormones which means you can enjoy the natural flavor. All of our pigs are grown to exacting standards of leanness and health and must meet stringent quality standards before they are accepted for our products. |
